what the author wants us to express in this phrase it
is that unlike native tourists are confronted daily with the reality of the
country and with all that it takes. Every day the natives make it impossible to
sustain both them and their families financially because they are poor. For
this reason, the natives cannot escape his reality as do the tourists. This
fact created the natives do not like the visit of tourists because it creates a
wave of feelings of inferiority and envy. We cannot think that way of tourists
to the contrary they are a source of income for the country's economy thus
preventing the economy from stagnating. For this reason, we should be grateful
for those who are interested to visit, learn and know more about our country.
We should be proud and grateful for what we have as there are people who do not
have the same blessing that we have. As a proverb known in my beloved island
Puerto Rico says: "Do not look at the speck in your neighbor's eye, if not
the beam in your own" (Unknown)...
